The Melbourne Didgeridoo & Cultural Festival is an exciting and unique cultural event. Saturday 11th. April 2014 from 11am to 10pm at Wombat Bend,  Duncan Street, Templestowe, Victoria 3106.

Permission has been given for the Didgeridoo Festival to take place at Wombat Bend by the traditional owners of the land and the traditional owners of Yidaki (Didgeridoo).

Colin accepting Djalu’s permission to stage the Didgeridoo Festivals in Melbourne and for women to perform so long as they do not do so in N.E. Arnhem Land and respect Yolngu traditions.

Prior to launching the Melbourne Didgeridoo and Cultural Festival, our late chairman Colin McKinnon-Dodd took the opportunity to fly to Sydney to seek permission and endorsement for the festival from one of the Didgeridoo’s custodians, Djalu Gurruwiwi from the Yolngu people of N.E. Enjoy a day of entertainment and activities for the whole family

The festival will be a day long celebration that showcases one of the world’s oldest wind instruments, the Didgeridoo. With entertainment for the whole family including handcrafts, workshops, activities and a concert featuring world-class performers and musicians plus food and art.
